There are things that I like about it, but it's exhausting to read. I think most of the positive feelings I have about it stem from how much I detested The Hours.
It looks like I'll have to write a twelve page research paper on one of those two books for this class.
It was really a journal question that turned into an essay. The question was: discuss how the author makes the reader aware of the most important theme.
That's an interesting approach. What kind of class was it? Mine is for introduction to literary criticism. It actually annoys me that I have to take that, though... I've taken higher level classes in which most of what we do is criticise literature, and I've passed them with As. This is like taking a remedial class><. It doesn't help that the professor is annoying and has really strange standards for what she considers good writing. I'm getting good grades regardless, but it's irritating when she makes copies of and passes out the "best" essays. They have no semblance of good grammar or coherent thought in the writing... Go figure.
